Baking with Osian

Osian and I were recently sent a lovely baking set from I Just Love It, who sell a huge range of personalised gifts. In all honesty, we haven't done very much baking at all over the past 6 months or so, which is a shame, because Osian is at an age where he really loves to get involved, and gets so excited when he gets to mix! So I'm utterly grateful for our new baking set, which has prompted us to get baking.

I found an Easter egg that was yet to be eaten, (crazy enough I actually found two) so I thought it would be perfect for making rice krispie cakes. I decided to use the white chocolate egg. We've never tried rice krispie cakes with white chocolate before, so I was interested to see how it would taste.

We melted the chocolate in the microwave. I wanted to involve Osian as much as possible, so I stopped the microwave every ten seconds or so, to ask him to mix it and see if he thought it was ready. I think it took about a minute to melt the whole Easter egg.

We then added a little cupful at a time of rice krispies, asking Osian at each stage if he thought there was enough, or if there needed a little more. Once we'd decided on a good amount it was time for the mixing. Osian loved the mixing, it was definitely his favourite part and he was ever so careful whilst doing so.

We then placed the mixture into cupcake holders and put them in the fridge to set. I love how simple the cake were to make, and how involved Osian was in the making of them.

Our new baking set is so lovely, and all personalised. Since Osian enjoy's baking so much, I decided the majority of the set's his, so got them personalised with his name. Each item is of a great quality, and personalised perfectly. I was particularly excited about the bowl and spoon. I can't wait to get using them more, and hoping our baking will start becoming a little more adventurous.

Our set includes,
Personalised cupcake tea towel
Personalised mixing bowl
Engraved wooden spoon
Personalised mummy's little helper apron
Personalised lets get baking cotton apron

Sounds like so much fun, one thing I am so terrible at is baking. Love cooking but baking cookies or anything like that is a disaster.
