Osian at 20 months old

On Monday, Osian turned 20 months old, is it just me or does that sound old? I'm way past the times of being able to call him a baby. This past month has completely flown by. It's been so lovely to be able to spend it together at home.

Osian seems to have come out of his shell quite a bit this month, if someone stops to speak to him, he sometimes answers. The majority of the time he still doesn't, but he will say bu-bye to anyone, and everything - even saying goodbye to a supermarket isle the other day. Whereas a few months ago, if anyone stopped to talk to Osian, he'd would just put his head down and not acknowledge them, he even did this with when around people he knew.

Osian can be very particular about certain things, like socks, he really doesn't like it if I'm not wearing socks. In a shop the other day, he was busy shouting socks at some mannequins, he really didn't like that they weren't wearing any. He also doesn't like it when things are different, and he likes people to have their own possessions, for example, he doesn't like anyone touching his Nain's handbag, it has to be her holding it at all times. Unless it's Osian wanting something that belongs to someone else, that's okay to happen.

Osian's still very much fond of Olaf, and he still spends a lot of time taking care of him. Osian spends lots of time reading himself a story. Apart from before bedtime, he'd rather read himself stories than have me read them to him. By Osian read I mean him babble away at the pages, it's very cute. He very much loves being outside, when we're not out he often asked to go 'side'. We've had lots of trips to the park this month, if the slide's not too big Osian loves going up the stairs and down the slide. Or he just spends the whole time running around. The parks nearby are very quiet, during the day we're usually the only ones there. Seeing as we don't have a garden, it's nice to have a place for Osian to run about.

Osian's becoming more determined lately, before if he struggled to do something, he'd give it to me to do straight away. Now he tries quite a few times before asking me to. Or if he wants to do something that he's not supposed, he'll try his luck a fair amount of times.

I wonder what Osian will be up to next month.

  2. Awww what a great update, he sounds so adorable. Parks are the best - the one nearest us is quiet on a morning so we go there then and it's so great to have the whole park to ourselves =)
