Longing for a Garden

This is my entry into Waltons blogger competition to win a wooden playhouse. If you'd like to enter please visit Twin Mummy and Daddy for the details

I don't have a garden, I have a little concrete space out the back, but it's tiny. Osian loves the outdoors, so even though there's not much there we often go out there. Well I think there's not much there, but the worlds a different place through a toddlers eyes. There are flowers growing on the wall, which Osian can hold a very long conversation with in Osian language. There's also a drain lid, which needs jumping on, and is a great place to stand and sing.

Here is a link to Osian singing out the back, he's not stood on the drain this particular time, but it's very cute.
Even though we don't have our own garden, we go to my parents' for tea every Monday. Osian usually wants to play outside. Where he has a great time playing with all the different stones, from my sister collection that has grown over the years, he also has a little slide that he loves playing on.

Most weeks Osian goes to visit my Grandma, who has a huge garden. Osian has a wonderful time in her garden, he spends ages exploring, picking daisies, speaking to all my Grandmas flowes, speaking to her ornaments, or just running around wild.

One photo of Osian was taking in my parents' garden, and the other in my Grandma's. It's clear from the photos how much Osian loves the outdoors, it really makes me wish we had a garden. Thankfully, we have three parks near by, each about a five minute walk from our house, so we will be visiting them lots over the summer, we've also got a few nice walks near by.

Even though we have places to go near by, it would be so handy to be able to just pop out the back for somewhere to play, and we could have some outdoor toys to play with. I think Osian would particularly love a water table. We'd also have lots of flowers for Osian to talk to, I'm actually thinking of buying a few pots of flowers to put out the back. It would make the place look a bit nicer, and I think Osian would love them.

  1. I love the things that kids play with. My girls say for ages picking daisies the other day and looking at insects! Thanks for entering the competition! Good luck! #WaltonsBloggerComp

  2. The outdoors is such an adventure. I remember my nephew moving from a flat to a house with a garden. He spoke very little then but his favourite word became 'Darden' (couldnt say G)

  5. I love that superhero T shirt, it's awesome. I also agree, all children love the outdoors. It gives them a lot to explore. Perhaps with a little imagination you could make your outdoor space somewhere Osian could explore? Even just starting with some chalks? We did chalking at the weekend, and my daughter loved it. Thanks for linking up with #MyFavouritePost
