17 Months Old

This biggest change this month has been Osian's speech, although he spends most of his time babbling away (in what I call, Osian language), he has started say quite a few more words. The word Osian says most clearly is 'Dara' for his Aunty Tara, he started saying it a few weeks ago, but he wouldn't say it around Tara for ages and she was dying to here him say her name. He has now said it a few times around her, but it's usually said when she's not around but he wants to see her. Osian also nearly says 'ball', and whilst playing with the ball one time he ran up to it and said 'mine', he says 'swish' for the wipers on the bus, he says 'Nain' which is the Welsh word for Grandmother, 'yes', he very nearly says 'Olaf', I haven't heard him say it but at nursery he's said 'fish'. He also very nearly says 'quack'. I think that's all the new words Osian's said. As well as learning these new words, he's been saying words he could already say quite a bit clearer.

Osian now has 11 teeth! I think his waking up at night last month was due to teething because his sleeping's gone back to normal this month. It's weird when I look at old photos and he's seemed to go from having no teeth and a big gummy smile from having loads so quickly, and has a big teeth smile now!
At the end of the day I usually sit and have a look at photos that I've taken during the day. Recently I've been amazed by how grown up he looks and have also noticed that his hair is finally growing! As well as looking older Osian must have grown quite a big recently because his 12-18 month clothes are becoming too small for him, Which means.. NEW CLOTHES!

We went to the park last week and Osian absolutely loved it, he had the park to himself, I'm not sure he would have been the same if there were other children there, especially if they were of a similar age to Osian, as he seems quite wary of them. Which is surprising considering he goes to nursery. The trip to the park was another realisation as to how grown up Osian is now, he loved having the independence to run about. Where as trips to the park in the past have consisted of him being on the swing the whole time.

The sweetest thing Osian has started doing this past month his giving me a big hug, although he's done this in the past, the way he does it now is so cute, he runs up to me and grabs my face and swings his arms around my neck, sometimes whilst saying 'aww'.
