GroBag Review

Last winter when Osian was just a little baby I used to feed him to sleep then I'd put him down in his moses basket/cot and put blankets on him. We did have a few sleeping bags but never put them on because he fed for so long before bed I didn't want him getting too hot whilst wearing them. Come March/April time Osian started going to bed awake, and he was more mobile so blankets would not stay on him during the night. This is when I used one of the sleeping bags we were given when he was born. I found they were really helpful in getting him to sleep at night, and then again when Osian finally started napping in his cot during the day the sleeping bag came in handy once again.
When I needed to buy sleeping bags this winter I looked into the The GroCompany's Grobags. The company came about in 2000, they provide advice for safer sleeping and they work closely alongside The Lullaby Trust. I had already bought a few GroBag's and I've been kindly sent another one to review.

Grobag's come in a range of different togs, the tog Osian needs at the moment is 2.5 because the house is quite cold at night. They also have summer ones at a lower tog or for if your house is still warm at night, but if your house is even colder than mine then they also offer a 3.5 tog. They also come in a range of sizes, Osian fits nicely in 6-18months and still has plenty of growing room.

There is a huge selection of designs available, alongside ones with double zips which can be used on the go and can be worn in a car seat or pram. The Grobag we've been sent is a lovely striped pattern with a green star in the middle. There are two strong poppers on each shoulder, there's a zip running down the side to open and close the bag, and when the zip is closed at the top there is material to cover the zip and another strong popper to keep it shut.

There is a cute room thermometer included. On the bag of the thermometer there is a guide as to which tog to use in which temperature and what clothing to wear underneath. I wish I had one of these when Osian was newborn as I struggled to know what to put him in for bedtime, as it was stressed that I shouldn't have him too hot but didn't want him to be cold either. It's still handy now, I go to bed completely happy that Osian will be the perfect temperature through the night.

Putting Osian's GroBag on has been part of his bedtime routine for a while now, I think it really helps as he knows when he sees it it's time to calm down and he'll be going to bed soon. I'm very pleased with our bag, and also the other ones we have, they are all up to the same great standard. I honestly don't know what we would do without them, there is no way Osian would keep a blanket on at night.

Disclosure - We were sent a GroBag for the purpose of an honest review, all words and opinions are my own.
