Osian can be a bit funny with foods, one day he'll eat loads of something whereas the next it will all get refused (usually all ending up on the floor!). I thought it would be nice to remember the ones that have hardly ever made it to the floor and seem to be consistently liked.
First up is sweet potato chips, they are so simple and lovely, but mainly they seem to be a big hit with Osian. I'd never thought to make them before, until one day I had them in a cafe and were enjoyed by Osian, my Mum and me. So thought I'd attempt to make my own so they could be enjoyed at home too.
It turns out they are the simplest thing I've ever made.
There are probably recipes where they are seasoned, but anything I make for Osian is plain so here's what I do.
1. Pre-heat the oven at number seven.
2. Whilst the oven's heating I wash the sweet potato and then chop into whatever size I fancy.
3. I then coat the chips with unsalted butter,
4. Next up is to place them all in a tray so they are not overlapping and whack them in the oven for about 25 minutes, turning once halfway through.
To be perfectly honest my cooking times change depending on what else is in the oven and just have the temperature set for the other thing and adjust the times for the chips.
Here's a photo from the ones I made today, they came out just how I like them (Osian seems to like them however they come out). The photo does make them look a little greasy but they weren't.
