An after school trip to Plas Newydd

On Tuesday after Tara finished school my Mum, Tara, Osian and I went for a little trip to Plas Newydd. I've had a National Trust membership since August, but this is the first time I've used it apart from my initial sign up when we went to Threave Gardens in Dumfries.

We couldn't stay for long because Osian needed to be home in time for tea (he gets too tried and grumpy to eat after a certain time), but that was okay since it's free to get in, we can pop back any time.

We choose a really good time to go. It turned out to be a really sunny afternoon, I even had to put suncream on Osian, which is something I wasn't expecting to need to do in the middle of September.

Plas Newydd has a lovely big house, it was the family home of Lord and Lady Angelsey, I'm not too sure if any of the family still live there. Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to go in the house, but we did have enough time to pop to the cafe which is at the end of the house.
The house shows how the Lord and Lady lived in the 1930s, and has a huge mural in the dinning room. I find it quite interesting going around houses decorated from a past time period, I like to see how different everything used to be.

There are also huge gardens to walk around, which include a tree house and a really good adventure playground. I used to love going when I was a kid and Tara loves going now.

There is also another park located near the car park and entrance where they have another cafe too. Tara got to have a quick play in that park while I got Osian in the car and put the pram away,

I handed my Mum my camera in the wrong setting so this photos come out a bit oddly, but it's the only photo I've got of me, my sister and Osian, so I had to share it anyway.

Despite the fact we weren't there long I think we all had a lovely time. It was a nice change to go out late afternoon, as I usually don't go anywhere after Osian's had his afternoon nap, Hopefully I'll have more posts up soon because I'll have got lots of use out of my membership.
