11 Months Old

So... apparently it's Osian's first birthday next month! I don't quite believe it, where has the time gone!?

Last month I said how his third tooth had come through 2 days before, well a day later his fourth tooth popped through too. He very quickly went from having one lonely tooth for ages to having four.

Osian loves exploring new places and has a good crawl around observing everything. This month he's  just been getting better and better at pulling himself up to standing, and barley needs any support to hold on. He starting to climb up onto things too.
Osian seems to have found a love for dancing, to start with he would just shake his head but now he's got loads of dance moves, and when he's in a certain mood just goes crazy to certain songs. He's also learnt how to clap and occasionally claps along to songs.

Bedtime's pretty much the same as it's been for a few months now, he has the odd day where he's just not tired at 7 and goes 10/15 minutes later, but most days we go through to the bedroom at 7 and give him his milk then he goes into his cot, where he usually falls asleep no problem.

He still had two naps a day most days. One in the morning and one in the afternoon, but today's been a little different. He's only just fallen asleep so maybe he'll only need one today? We will see how he is for the rest of the day.

He still goes to bed with a little teddy, we've got quite a few of the ones with a blanket attached, so we change them about so they can get washed. Osian seems to like holding onto one during the day now too, so he takes one to nursery with him too.

I got him weighed at the start of the month and he weighed 21lb 2oz. He's fitting into size 9-12 month clothes quite nicely.

Next week he'll be going to nursery 4 days a week, so the past few weeks he's being going for extra sessions to built it up a little. He seems to have settled in really well, when we go to pick him up he seems so happy there. Hopefully he'll adjust easily to being there for quite a bit more next week though.

Osian's still generally quite happy, he likes to have someone sat on the floor playing with him sometimes and other times he likes to play independently. Recently he seems to get so excited when he sees the pram coming out, I think he enjoys going for walks a lot more now. He loves having stories read to him or just flicking through a book by himself, and shouting at the pages. He loves stacking cups, or towers of anything getting built for him and knocking it all over.

Oh and I nearly forgot, I'm pretty sure he's learnt how to say Hiya, or 'Iya' as he says it. It's so cute, I love saying hiya and him saying iya back!

I can't believe I have an 11 month old baby, feels like yesterday Osian was just a tiny newborn.

  2. A lovely update! It's so exciting hearing them try words out isn't it?! Digs has just started saying 'gain' as in 'again' when I get to the end of a book. It's adorable. I can't believe his birthday is just two weeks away! Are you doing anything nice for Osian's? xx

  8. Aww, what a cutie! I love the first photo of him with his nose all scrunched up. I wish I'd kept a journal like this of Pumpkin's monthly development. She's nearly eight months now, but I think I'll start for her 8th month. Thanks for the inspiration! #MMWBH
