9 Months Old

Okay, 9 months old, that's a big one right? Well it sure feels like a big one.

Osian isn't crawling but is quite mobile considering so. He's started climbing up on things, whilst holding onto something he can pull himself up to standing quite well, but doesn't quite have the balance to stay there for long.
For the past few days Osian has started giving a few people a little wave back if they wave hello or goodbye to him. So far he has only waved at his Aunty Tara and his Taid. I keep waving at him in the hope he will wave back but he just laughs at me.

Osian is a good sleeper now. He goes to bed between 7-7.30pm and wakes up any time between 6 and 7, it's usually more like between 6-6.30am but some days he has that extra little sleep until 7. He has two naps a day, which can last anything from 30 minutes to 2 and a half hours, one in the morning about 8 and one mid afternoon, the time varies depending how tired he is. The longer he sleeps the more frequently I seem to be checking on him.
He goes to bed with a comforter teddy, one with a little blanket attached. He can take quite a while to fall asleep, and I can usually hear him babbling away to him teddy. It's quite funny how lovely he can get whilst in his cot, whereas a few minutes before he's so sleepy. About 90% of the time he falls asleep holding onto his teddy.

Osian's second tooth has just come through. Teething seemed to bother him this time, whereas when his first tooth came through he didn't seem too bothered and wasn't that different. This time we had a quite a few grumpy days filled with lots of cuddles and calpol, where he wasn't bothered about playing with his toys or doing anything he usually loves to do. He also had a cold at the same time, so a combination of them both must have been getting too much for him. One evening after having about 15 minutes of non-stop crying, which his quite long for Osian to be unsettled, he actually fell asleep on me, which is something he never does now that he doesn't fall asleep feeding.

He has suddenly decided to be a bit of a fussy eater. One day he will love something and eat loads and loads of it, whereas the next day he will refuse it and throw it on the floor. Such as toast, he used to eat loads of toast but now he won't touch it, but apparently that's normal for babies to do, so I'm not worried about it.

From just looking at the picture in his 8 month update, his appearance seems to have changed so much! He's grown a lot too, not long after turning 8 months old, he outgrew his 6-9 month vests and baby grows. He still fits in some of the 6-9 month clothes but he's mostly in 9-12 months. I think he's going to be tall when he's older because he seems so long now!

Osian is generally such a happy little chappy. Unless there's something wrong or he's tired, he spends most of the day smiling and babbling away, his babbling can get very loud, sometimes he's having a little shout at this toys!
He seems to have learnt the difference between people he knows and strangers now, and can be a bit wary of them. He doesn't like to be held by someone he doesn't recognise, but will maybe go to them once he's been around them for a little while. He seems to know his family though, even those he doesn't see daily, which is lovely to see.

To be honest I think this is the month I have noticed the biggest change in Osian, on a whole he just seems to  be much more grown up.

  2. Such a gorgeous boy! I remember writing Indianas updates and she keeps learning to do something new the day after. It's amazing how they suddenly learn to do something xx
