Sunshine

To everyone's surprise North Wales along with many other places in the UK have had a week of lovely weather. I have been trying to make the most of it and go out at least once a day. On Monday  we decided to go out for the day. We like to go to a place called Llanberis. We are not the only ones, the place is usually packed when the weathers nice, since it wasn't a weekend or a school holiday the place was pretty quiet. We parked next to the lagoons they have there and walked along to The National Slate Museum, which is a 1.2 mile walk (Can you tell I started to use google maps the other day?)

Llyn Padarn

Llyn Peris

I think someone else whose better at taking photos and had a camera would do a much better job at capturing how beautiful the place looked, but I think I did an okay job with my phone. For any of you who don't know llyn means lake.

There is lots to do in Llanberis. There is a train which runs along a stretch of the lakeside of Llyn Padarn. When we walked past I said that I would like to take Osian on the train when he's a bit bigger.
The Slate Museum that we walked to is also a nice place to go. The part I like the most there is the 3 houses side by side that they have. They are all furnished as if they are from different years, to show the average quarrymans house from the period. The first one being from 1861 the middle one from 1901 last one being 1969, I find them very interesting.
You can also visit the electric mountain or take some kayaking or canoeing lessons in the lagoons and lake.
I think the main attraction to Llanberis is Snowdon, which is the biggest mountain in Wales and England. One of the paths to walk up Snowdon starts in Llanberis, also there's the train station if you want to get a train up to the top and back down again. I've never been up Snowdon but I've always wanted to.

Although we go to Llanberis often I always enjoy it. I'm very thankful for the nice weather this week which gave us such a lovely day out.

I always used to wonder when I was younger why people would come here, I thought there was nothing to do, but now I see why!
