Storytime

For the past few days I have been wanting to start reading Osian a short story once a day. Even though he's too young to understand at the moment I still think its a nice thing to do, especially if it is a colourful book that he can look at. I also think it's a good habit for us to get into and to keep at it when he's older. I think it will be nice to have a calm time during the day, without the tv on or playing with any noisy toys, to l this is my hope, who knows what will actually happen in the future, I may not be able to keep him sat still for long enough to read him a story.

Even though I've been wanting to start for a few days today was the first time I remembered about it when Osian wasn't feeding or sleeping. I read to stories to him, 'The very hungry caterpillar' and 'We're going on a bear hunt' these are both stories I remember reading to my sister when she was younger, so was really nice to read the same ones to Osian. The only thing about reading the story about the bear hunt was every other page the pictures were black and white so Osian seemed to loose interest in these pages, apart from that I was so surprised that he sat happily through them both and seemed to be paying attention to the colourful pictures. This is definitely something I'm going to try and do daily.

  1. I have the same problem with Black and white pages in Miley's story books, we recently started reading Julia Donaldson books, they are usually rhyming stories but are very bright and colourful, some pages are textured too! :) x
